### Responsibilities
HOURLY RATE FOR THIS POSITION IS $12.90- $21.86
* Under close supervision of a journeymen learns to perform the simpler and more routine duties of the trade. Performs unskilled work for the purpose of obtaining experience and on-the-job training. Work is normally performed in an industrial shop or building under environmental controlled conditions. Working under the guidance of and in close association with senior personnel performs a variety of work assignments consisting of established, specific, and related tasks that have been selected to orient the employee in the practical application of basic principles, concepts, and techniques of the occupational field. Assigned tasks are routine, repetitive, easy to learn and can consist of two or more steps that often require simple choices.
* Uses, maintains and accounts for tools and equipment. Learns proper tool control measures; ensures tools are properly marked and secured when area is unattended. With supervision, inventories and inspects tools and learns to identify worn or broken tools for replacement. Is taught to ensure the tool inventory log is properly signed off in accordance with established procedures. Promptly reports missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor.
* Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment. Uses and assures proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing (e.g., safety gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, or respirators). Performs clean-up duties such as cleaning equipment, sweeping, straightening and lining up tools and other property in assigned areas.

### Qualifications
The Premier Apprenticeship Program targets individuals who are seeking a dynamic career with the Air Force Civilian Service in a variety of career fields by gaining real-world experience. You will be given the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to pursue a successful career with the Air Force Civilian Service. Upon graduation and program requirement completion, a Premier Apprentice Internship may be converted to a TERM, career or career-conditional appointment into the Air Force Palace Acquire or similar developmental training program without further competition.
### Education
Recommend areas of study: It is HIGHLY desired students be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a program pursuing a Plumbing Trades Certificate or related field of study.
This position has an education requirement. You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
To qualify for a WG-03: Currently accepted for enrollment or enrolled in an approved program at an accredited college or university, pursuing a post-secondary degree or certificate (e.g. associate's, vocational, trade schools), in good academic standing and enrolled at least half-time at a public or other non-profit institution of higher education. Your degree/certificate must have a completion date no later than Fall semester 2020.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

Physical Effort: The work requires moderate to strenuous effort. The work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, crawling and stooping. Climbing and working in high places may be required. Frequently lifts and carries, unassisted, items weighing up to 25 pounds. Sometimes required to lift and carry items weighing more than 25 pounds and over with the help of weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
Working Conditions: Outside work is usually performed under all kinds of weather conditions. Indoor work is often accomplished in office buildings or in well-lighted, heated, and ventilated areas such as warehouses, loading docks, or trade shops. Frequently exposed to weather and temperature extreme, drafts, noise, dust, and dirt and the possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts, scrapes, or more serious injuries. Work requires the employees to follow proper safety procedures and use standard safety equipment such as gloves, ear protectors, safety glasses, and steel-toe shoes to avoid possible hazards I the work area.
This internship is to provide a learning opportunity for a student enrolled in a field of study relating to their career path, to enhance their future goals and improve their knowledge with work experience in a working environment.
The entire period served under the Internship Program counts as the participant's trial period.
