Project Engineer
Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Eningeer who will manage the cost and schedule of allocated projects; manage kick off and progress meetings to ensure project requirements are communicated to discipline Engineers and maintain the Technical Assurance of the Engineering process.

+ Client single point of contact for Project scope execution

+ Shall maintain satisfactory relations with client via the BP Project Engineer

+ Ensuring all budgets are in place in a timely manner prior to commencement of work

+ Ensuring that all assigned work is covered in a timely manner by the appropriate agreed incentive mechanism

+ Responsible for all aspects of assigned work from initial inception through study, detailed design, development engineering, construction, commissioning, as building and close-out

+ Responsible for organizing Kick-off meeting and for expediting and closing out any actions identified and documented from it

+ Regular written (single page) project progress reporting and the written recording of meeting discussion points and actions arising

+ Responsible for the quality, accuracy and timely issue of all plans, commercial forecasts, progress and exceptions reports associated with all assigned work

+ Ensuring all estimates are complete

+ Accurately track and report on status of all assigned work

+ Responsible for the quality and timely issue of all design book and / or workpacks associated with assigned work

+ Visit site on a regular basis (as agreed with the Delivery Manager) in order to develop relationship with the site team and fully understand customer needs for assigned work

+ Ensure that all critical actions (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, Safety Review, KO Meeting) are closed out in a timely manner without disrupting ongoing work

+ Motivate and co-ordinate the activities of the team assigned to his work throughout engineering, design, construction, commissioning (if required) and close-out phases

+ Responsible for the procurement of all elements (services, fabrication and manufactured items) required for his assigned work

+ Meeting the project objectives by generating enthusiasm, giving positive directions, reviewing progress against schedules, assisting in the resolution of any problem areas and maintaining a personal interest in their achievement

+ Communicate through the established project reporting lines any deviances that he identifies that will affect budget or program

+ Responsible for approval or rejection of a Design Change Note (DCN)

+ Responsible for agreeing / accepting variations with the disciplines

+ Responsible for approval of cost / budget changes

+ Responsible for obtaining BP approval (where applicable) of all budget variations and any subsequent changes to Project Schedule and incentive agreements

+ Responsible for expediting and closing out any actions identified and documented on the Kick Off Meeting

+ Ensures close communication is maintained with Principal engineers for job planning, job prioritizing, job estimating, job progressing and change control

+ Responsible for placing any purchase orders/sub-contracts for the services of vendors

+ Co-ordination of all specialist vendors

+ Delivery of the project within time, budget, safety and quality requirements and with no accidents, no harm to people and no damage to the environment

+ Responsible for expediting the offshore construction resources to undertake the scope of his work

+ Responsible for expediting the consumables and construction and test equipment needed for the scope of his work

+ Commercial delivery to company

+ Liaison with all services groups

+ Ensuring all material is delivered in a timescale and in a manner that meets the scheduled construction requirements

+ Responsible for Construction and Pre-commissioning activities

+ Responsible for full and final close-out (Technical and Commercial)

+ Provides oversight to the following departments in relation to relevant scopes; Engineering disciplines, Planning, Supply Chain, Construction, and QA/QC

+ Provides oversight to a project portfolio to a max. of 6-8 Projects of varying complexity and duration

Minimum Experience:

+ 5 years' in the petrochemical contracting industry

+ 2 years' in Project Engineering Role

+ 1 year cold climate experience

Desired Qualifications:

+ Associates or Bachelor's degree
